Our Mission Statement:
The Western Pacific Property Inspection Institute is committed to providing those wishing to become professional inspectors of residential real estate and commercial properties, with access to quality education despite work and personal commitments or living in a location which precludes attendance in classroom based programs.
We provide participants with the flexibility to take courses from anywhere in the Province of British Columbia or anywhere beyond, while still continuing to work and live in their home communities.

The "Education" requirements contained in the Home Inspection Licensing Regulation (HILR) resulted in the development of the Fundamentals of Home Inspection Program.
New applicants seeking a Home Inspector License will complete the Fundamentals of Home Inspection Program (HPIN 104, 105, 107, 108, and 109), with at least a 70% final grade in each, to receive a Program Certificate and Transcript to submit to Consumer Protection BC (CPBC) as one of the basic licensing requirements.
We also plan to offer advanced courses in Property Inspection, including inspections for Strata properties, based on demand.

HPIN 107 Communications and Reporting
The most frequent cause of disagreement between home inspectors and their clients is a failure in communication. Often this failure is directly linked to poor inspection reporting. Clearly good reporting is key to a successful inspection career.
HPIN 108 BC Building Code
Basic House Inspection education typically avoids "the building code". WPPII includes an introduction to Part 9 and 10 of the BC Building Code with particular attention to the Energy Step Code.
Practical Inspection Lab
Two Parts A "the inspections" and B "the reports.
To be qualified to do house inspections a minimum level of practical experience is required. This course is a "virtual lab" providing some basic practise in the inspection process but more importantly, providing an opportunity to develop report writing skills.
